Director, Institute for Telecommunications Research

The University of South Australia is seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to lead its Institute for Telecommunications Research (ITR).

ITR is one of Australias foremost ICT research groups focusing on wireless terrestrial and satellite communications, and has strengths in both fundamental and applied research. Well supported by industry and national competitive grant funding, ITR maintains a strong academic profile aligned with a wide range of commercial and defence sectors.

The Director: ITR is a senior University position and is responsible for providing strategic and visionary leadership to the Institute as well as the wider University. The ability to create effective partnerships and build quality collaborations with external parties including industry, other universities and government is essential.

The successful candidate will have appropriate postgraduate qualifications, be a researcher of international standing with a strong track record of success that will include engagement with industry and end users, and have a demonstrated capacity to exercise strategic leadership. An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
