Emphasis Media Limited: Publishing Director (Ref: Australia) Needed
Emphasis Media Limited is the industry leader in inflight media and custom publishing. With a highly experienced, multinational staff, the company maintains an enviable reputation for quality magazines and is currently seeking talented individuals to join its team.
The Publishing Director will have the basic missions to manage the creative processes of all our publications and to explore potential new media. This is a Hong Kong appointment. Previous work experience in the Asian market is preferable.
In response to clients' needs and market trend, the Publishing Director is to lead the editorial and design teams to produce inflight and non-inflight publications, in the forms of magazines and other print or digital media, of the highest journalistic and design standards for our clients. Some of his/her core accountabilities will entail the following:
* monitor quality standards and production schedules of all publications
* create and monitor procedural standards and style guides
* develop new content and editorial direction of magazines and other print or digital media and manage relevant budgets
* form and lead a creative team to produce creative/editorial direction for every potential pitch or proposal
* perform editing duties on a need basis
* travel occasionally
The ideal candidate should possess the following experience and attributes:
* degree/diploma in Journalism, English, Mass Communications or relevant disciplines
* minimum 15 years experience in publishing with 5 years working in Asia, preferably editing or managing inflight and/or custom publications
* extensive experience on top international magazines
* experience with new business pitches
* good network of contributors for editorial, illustration and photography
* experience with digital media
* excellent English-language skills, both oral and written
* distinguished communication, listening, interpersonal, presentation, and leadership skills
* a leader as well as a team player
